Days End Farm Horse Rescue will have an open house fund-raiser to help abused horses from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 17601 Frederick Road, Mount Airy.

The nonprofit organization takes in and cares for abused horses.

Activities will include tours of the farm, music, face painting, pony rides, clowns, a petting zoo, 4-H Horsing Around games and a bake sale. Rain date is Sunday.

* Winfield: A Washington Road resident told state police that the windshield of a 1992 Toyota was broken with a chunk of concrete. The damage was estimated at $450.
