FIRE

* Taneytown: Firefighters from Taneytown and Union Bridge responded to a field fire on Stover Road at 1:04 p.m. Wednesday. Engines from New Windsor were transferred to Union Bridge, and units from Harney were sent to Taneytown for backup. Taneytown and Union Bridge battled the fire for an hour and 10 minutes.

Engines from Taneytown responded to a gas grill fire in the 3000 block of Roop Road at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday. They were out for an hour.
