3 officers, man hurt in city collision

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Three city police officers and a driver of a florist's delivery truck were injured this morning in a collision at the intersection of Chase Street and Guilford Avenue.

Police said the truck driver, a 44-year-old male, was taken to the Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition. His identity was being withheld.

The three officers, who also were not identified, were being treated at Mercy Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Their conditions were not available.

Police said the delivery truck apparently ran a red light and collided with the police vehicle, which had its siren and blue flashing lights on, police said.

Any traffic charges were pending an investigation, police spokesman Rob Weinhold said.
