Man charged in store theft of steaks

A Catonsville man was arrested Tuesday evening and charged with theft after he allegedly took two packs of steaks worth $19 from a Giant store in the Cromwell Fields Shopping Center, county police said.

A store employee saw the man hide two packs of steaks inside his pants shortly before 7:30 p.m., police said. The man then left the store without paying for the steaks. Moments later, a security guard stopped him.

Thomas Charles Florey, 31, of the 3600 block of McTavish Ave. was charged with theft under $300, police said.

Harundale: A man walked into a Hechingers store in the Southdale Shopping Center on Mountain Road around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, took a $179 Poulan chain saw, then walked out

and drove away, county police said.
