8700 block of Cloudleap Court: Someone attempted to steal a 1993 Toyota Camry last Thursday or early Friday, police said.

8700 block of Hayshed Lane: Someone tried to steal a 1992 Honda Accord early Friday. Police found a screwdriver in the car's ignition.

* Oakland Mills: 5500 block of Stevens Forest Road: Someone cut wire fencing clasps at a business in the Oakland Mills Village Shopping Center on Friday, entered an office and opened a safe. Nothing was taken.
