2 men are shot, one critically

BALTIMORE -- Two men were injured, one critically, yesterday afternoon in a shooting city police said they believe was drug-related.

The victims, whose names were not released, told police they were driving north in the 1600 block of Rosedale St. about 2:30 p.m. when they were hit by gunfire.

The men told police they did not see who had attacked them and knew of no motive for the shooting.

A 25-year-old man was in critical condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the upper torso, police said.

His friend, 39, was struck in the right thigh and was in stable condition.

Officer John K. Nolan of the Southwest District station said police suspect the incident was drug-related because, "The location is one of our highest drug activity streets."
