Turning on the lights at Camden Yards is a little mor complicated than simply flipping a switch. Depending on air temperature -- the lights brighten more quickly in warm weather -- it takes from 10 to 20 minutes for the 1,500-watt metal halide bulbs to fully illuminate.

There are a total of 711 of the bulbs in use in the stadium light fixtures.

Bulbs have a life expectancy of about 2,000 hours.
