Officer suspended after hearing

FREDERICK -- A police officer has been suspended with pay after a hearing into alleged misconduct.

Deputy Police Chief Capt. Pierce Stine said yesterday the suspension stems from a major drug bust in Frederick.

Captain Stine said the officer, who was not identified, will be the subject of an internal investigation.

The police officer was apparently photographed on videotape talking with several of the people who were targets of the drug investigation.

But Captain Stine would say only that informants told authorities about the officer.

More than 20 people have been arrested in Frederick as a result of the three-month investigation into drug trafficking.
