Council members, executive won't get raises

The County Council, following the recommendations of the Salary Standard Commission and the Personnel Board, has voted to keep pay for council members and the county executive at current levels for the next four years.

Under two bills that passed unanimously at Monday night's meeting, the salary for the county executive will remain at $84,000 a year.

The County Council chairman, currently C. Edward Middlebrooks, R-Severn, will continue to receive $30,000 yearly.

The vice chairman, currently Maureen Lamb, D-Annapolis, will get $27,000 a year.

Other council members receive an annual salary of $26,000.
