Hot days may force school system changes

The Carroll County public school system urges parents to monitor radio and television stations if the forecast temperature for the following day is predicted to be 95 degrees or higher and humidity to be above 50 percent.

When the temperature and humidity are predicted to be high, staff members will monitor temperatures in schools without air conditioning. The decision to close or dismiss schools early will not automatically be related to the predicted temperature, but rather the comfort level in nonair-conditioned schools.
