The most entertaining thing on TV tonight is . . . the antenna.
* "Cafe Americain." (10 p.m.-11 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- You may be surprised to learn that, beginning with tonight's double-feature, this Valerie Bertinelli comedy is back with new .. episodes.
You may be surprised that it was gone -- or, based on the ratings, may even be surprised that it was around at all, much less staging a summer comeback. NBC.
* "Tales From the Crypt." (11 p.m.-midnight, Ch. 29) -- The first of tonight's two episodes is the one worth catching: Christopher Reeve, Bess Armstrong and Judd Nelson all are good, and funny, in this ghoulish but not grisly story about a barbecue pit with a very secret recipe. Fox.
Cable
* "Frankenstein." (8 p.m.-11 p.m., TNT) -- This made-for-cable 1993 version of the classic Mary Shelley story holds true to the original text. Randy Quaid portrays the synthetic man created by the brilliant Dr. Frankenstein (Patrick Bergen) . . . though the results are more terrifying, and tragic, than the scientist envisioned.
* "Sliver." (8 p.m.-9:50 p.m., HBO) -- That's how much column space I'll give this 1993 Sharon Stone movie.
* "The Adventures of Pete & Pete." (8 p.m.-10:30 p.m., NIK) -- For summer, Nick at Nite is pushing its boundaries and adding 30 minutes to its formerly 8 p.m.-10 p.m. Saturday night Nick (SNICK) lineup.
Tonight, to kick that off, the network is presenting a quintet of "Pete & Pete" episodes.
Which, if you watch in order, is more like Pete & Pete & Pete & Pete & Pete & . . .
* "The Sex Puppets." (11 p.m.-1 a.m., USA) -- Dana Plato, formerly of "Diff'rent Strokes," stars in this 1992 movie -- no strings attached.
* "Gilligan's Island Marathon." (12:05 a.m.-6 a.m., TBS) -- When you're watching this show, every episode is a marathon.
* "Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter." (4:30 a.m.-6:30 TNT) -- . . . And he carries a torch for her.
