Game 2 of the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference championship between Lutheran and Friends was suspended due to rain yesterday.
The game was tied at 1-1 in the bottom of third inning with host Friends batting when the umpires saw lightning and winds began to pick up. After a 25-minute wait, the umpires suspended play. The game will be resumed at 3:30 p.m. today at Herring Run Park.
Lutheran leads the series, 1-0, winning 11-4 on Monday. The Saints were sparked by a complete-game five-hitter by Joel Davis. If necessary, the third and deciding game will be at 3:45 p.m. tomorrow at Lutheran.
Lutheran last won the championship 10 years ago.
Friends, in its fourth year of varsity competition, is making its first appearance in the championship series.
