POLICE

* Sykesville: A resident of the 6300 block of Old Washington Road told state police that someone entered his 1987 Chevrolet pickup truck, cut wires and stole the stereo system Monday while the vehicle was parked at his house. The loss was estimated at $1,060.

FIRE

* Sykesville: Firefighters from the Sykesville station went to the aid of a person locked out of his house in the 5600 block of Bartholow Road at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday. They were out for 25 minutes.

* Gamber: Firefighters from Gamber responded to a woods fire on Bollinger Road at 7:54 p.m. Wednesday. They were out for 20 minutes.
