* Taneytown: A resident of the 4600 block Buffington Road told state police someone entered his house and stole $2,500 Monday. There was no forced entry, according to police.

FIRE

* New Windsor: Firefighters from the New Windsor station responded to a fire in a pile of trash at Routes 31 and 75 at 3:56 p.m. yesterday. They were out for 13 minutes.

New Windsor, Winfield and Westminster were dispatched to a shed fire in the 1800 block of Bowersox Road at 9:44 a.m. yesterday. Units were out for 57 minutes.

Firefighters from the New Windsor station investigated smoke in the area of Atlee Ridge and Old New Windsor roads at 12:09 a.m. yesterday. They were out for 12 minutes.

A grill fire at a house in the 2100 block of Winwood Terrace at 6:01 p.m. yesterday required the services of the firefighters from New Windsor. They were out for 27 minutes.
