A 28-year-old Walkersville man was injured Sunday when his car struck a deer on Route 140.

Michael H. Blum, of the 8700 block of Daring Court, told state police that he was driving north on Route 140 near Tyrone Road in his 1987 Plymouth Horizon about 8:15 p.m. when a deer ran in front of the vehicle.

He said he was unable to stop the car, which hit the animal. The deer's leg struck Mr. Blum through the open window.

Mr. Blum was released from the Carroll County Hospital after treatment, according to a spokeswoman.
