Hobart wins, sets up final with Salisbury

GENEVA, N.Y. -- Cabell Maddux scored five goals and had four assists yesterday as Hobart topped Nazareth, 18-14, to advance to next week's NCAA Division III men's lacrosse championship game against Salisbury State.

The Statesmen, who have won 13 of the 14 Division III titles, will play the Sea Gulls at 2 p.m. Sunday at Byrd Stadium in College Park, Md. Salisbury advanced by beating Gettysburg, 20-11, on Saturday.

Maddux scored three straight goals to open the third quarter as Hobart went on a 5-0 run to open a 14-9 lead. Nazareth would get no closer than two goals after that.

Todd Muendel added five goals and Trent Carter four for Hobart.
