Man arrested, another sought in shooting

THE BALTIMORE SUN

County police have charged a 22-year-old Annapolis man with assault with attempt to murder in a shooting Wednesday night at a house in the 400 block of Kenilworth Drive, officials said yesterday.

They also have issued an arrest warrant for the man's roommate.

Police said two men knocked on the door of the Kenilworth Drive house about 7:30 p.m. When a 16-year-old girl who lives at the address and who knows both men opened the door, they forced their way in.

One man began arguing with the girl's brother, 21-year-old Trevelin Queen, who lives at the Kenilworth Drive address, and her cousin, 23-year-old Derrick Sewell, police said.

During the dispute the man raised his jacket several times to display a handgun stuck in the waistband of his trousers, police said. Mr. Queen punched the man in the face and ran toward the kitchen, police said. Mr. Sewell ran for the back door and the girl ran upstairs.

As the man staggered from the force of the blow, the second man took the gun from him and fired two shots at Mr. Sewell as he fled, police said. The bullets lodged in two walls in the home, police said.

The intruders fled after the shots were fired, police said.

Brent Kevin Pariag, 22, of the 400 block of Captains Circle was arrested on the assault charge and charges of reckless endangerment, breaking and entering and destruction of property, police said.

The warrant for Dexter Tyson, 20, carries the same charges.
