Runway work changes BWI flight paths

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Residents of Linthicum, Ferndale and Severn may be hearing airplane noises at unusual times over the weekend as evening flight patterns change at Baltimore-Washington International Airport to accommodate runway construction.

Weather permitting, work to extend Runway 10/28 will force the closing of that runway and of Runway 15R/33L from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday nights. Flights will be diverted to Runway 4/22.

The next weekend closings are tentatively scheduled for mid-June. The work is expected to be completed in November, and flight patterns will be intermittently affected until then.

For updates on runway closings, residents may call the Noise Abatement Hotline at (410) 859-7021.
