AUGUSTA, N.J. -- Colin Brazell's run-scoring single in the bottom of the ninth rallied second-seeded Johns Hopkins past fifth-seeded Rutgers-Newark, 3-2, in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament yesterday.
Brazell's single to right drove in Norm Gardner as the Blue Jays (34-4) scored all of their runs on four consecutive hits in the final inning off Rutgers-Newark starter Mike Pasternak.
