Police light rail deployment yields 10 more arrests

County police arrested 10 more people, all but one of them on theft charges, over the weekend as part of the department's light rail initiative, officials said.

Nine suspects were arrested for thefts under $300 and one was arrested on an outstanding warrant for the theft of a handgun, police said. Eight were arrested at the Cromwell Field Shopping Center and two were arrested at the light rail stop in Linthicum after they had boarded the train at Cromwell Station, police said.

Three of those arrested were juveniles. They were released to their parents, police said. Nine of those arrested live in Baltimore and one lives in Severn, police said.

* Ferndale: Someone stole a toolbox and tools worth $300 from a truck parked in the 100 block of Second Ave. between Friday and Sunday.
