Severna Park upsets No. 9 Arundel, 9-8

Severna Park withstood a furious rally by Arundel (12-2) in the final six minutes and upset the No. 9 Wildcats, 9-8, at Severna Park last night.

Junior attackman Mark Frye scored five goals and had three assists, as the unranked Falcons (11-3) clinched the second seed in the coming 4A/3A Regional behind No. 1 seed Annapolis (12-2). Severna Park will play host to No. 3 seed Arundel again Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Frye scored the Falcons' first five goals, and Severna Park took an 8-3 lead into the final period. The Falcons had four unanswered goals in the third period.
