James Mlynarski, Arundel

Boys gymnastics

Mlynarski took the All-Around championship for the boys by winning five of six events and scoring 48.4 points in last week's county gymnastic championships. Mlynarski won 40 of the 42 events -- horse, parallel bars, rings, vaulting and floor exercise -- he competed in this season.

Top female

Karen Newhard, Arundel

Girls gymnastics

Newhard won the girls' All-Around at the county championships and led the Wildcats to their second straight county title. Newhard won three of four events for a total score of 36.45 and took 22 of 24 events overall for the season according to coach Carol Nutt.

Baseball

Jamie Stoddard, Arundel

Stoddard posted back-to-back wins in relief, Thursday and Friday, as the No. 2 Wildcats won two thrillers. The senior right-hander went the final 1 1/3 innings and did not give up a hit as Arundel got all of its runs and its only hit -- a two-out, three-run homer by Sean Fairbanks -- in the bottom of the seventh to stun Chesapeake, 5-3.

Friday, Stoddard faced a no-out, bases loaded situation in the bottom of the seventh at Severna Park, got out of it and didn't give up a run in the eighth either as the Wildcats outlasted the Falcons, 7-4.

Boys lacrosse

Mark Frye, Severna Park

Frye, a junior attackman, led the Falcons (10-3) to two wins last week to qualify for the 4A/3A playoffs. In a 10-5 win over Meade, Frye had three goals and two assists. He scored four goals in a 12-6 win over Old Mill.

Girls lacrosse

Jessica Hull, Broadneck

Hull had three goals in each of two wins by the Bruins last week. Broadneck beat Glen Burnie, 16-6, with Hull scoring three and assisting on three, and her third goal with 1:30 left in overtime

Friday led the Bruins past South River, 11-10.

Boys track

Andre Wise, Meade

Wise won three races in the Bob Golliday Invitational at Old Mill Tuesday. He won the 100 meters (11.0 seconds), the 220 meters (22.7) and the 440 (51.6).

Girls track

Raina Domneys, Old Mill

Domneys was a triple winner in the girls' Bob Golliday Invitational at Old Mill and finished second in the 300 meters. She won the 100-meter hurdles (14.7 seconds), the long jump (17 1/2 feet) and triple jump (36 feet, 8 1/2 inches).
