* Sykesville: An official of Grayson Homes Inc., of Ellicott City, reported to state police that someone forced the front doors of houses under construction on Four Point Court in Sykesville and stole three sets of oak kitchen cabinets and four Gapco glass sliding doors and damaged counter tops and walls of the houses. The four glass doors and one set of cabinets had been installed. Two other sets of cabinets were still in boxes after delivery May 3, the day of the break-ins, the official said. The theft and damage were estimated at $7,100.

FIRE

* Eldersburg: Sykesville responded to a call of wires on fire on Margin Avenue at 11:34 p.m. Saturday. Units were out for an hour while waiting for emergency crews from the utility company to arrive and make repairs.

* Sykesville: Sykesville assisted Howard County for a fire alarm in the 3900 block of Sharp Road at 8:11 a.m. Monday. Units were out for 26 minutes.
