2 charged with robbing Benfield Road Pizza Hut

Two men were arrested early yesterday and charged with robbing the Pizza Hut in the 500 block of Benfield Road, police said.

Shortly after the robbery, police stopped a car near the scene and found a shotgun and money bags from the restaurant. Witnesses had given officers a description of the car.

James Fitzpatrick, 22, of the 100 block of Caraway Road in Owings Mills and Thomas Anders, 23, of Hawksbury Road, Randallstown, were each charged with armed robbery.

Mr. Fitzpatrick also was charged with using a deadly weapon.

According to police, Mr. Fitzpatrick held up the restaurant around 1:30 a.m., while Mr. Anders waited outside in the car.
