Baysox beaten in 11th, 3-2

THE BALTIMORE SUN

FREDERICK -- Tate Seefried's two-run single off Steve Chitren with two out in the 11th inning lifted the Albany-Colonie Yankees to a 3-2 Eastern League victory over the Bowie Baysox last night at Grove Stadium.

It was the fourth loss in five games for the Baysox, who wasted an excellent performance by starter Jimmy Haynes.

Haynes equaled his own Bowie record with 11 strikeouts and did not walk a batter before being removed after 8 2/3 innings. The only damaging blow off him was an opposite-field homer by Lyle Mouton in the second.

Bowie's first run was unearned in the first inning. The Baysox scored in the bottom of the 11th on singles by Edgar Alfonzo, Jose Millares and Cesar Devarez, but Brent Miller struck out to end the game.
