Teen-ager injured in two-car crash

A 17-year-old Ellicott City girl was seriously injured Saturday when her car struck another car driving toward her, Howard County police said.

Angela Holtman was flown by state police MedEvac helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she was in fair and stable condition yesterday with head, abdomen, chest and spinal injuries.

Police said Ms. Holtman was driving her 1991 Ford Escort east in the 4300 block of Montgomery Road at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, at times switching lanes on the two-lane road.

Police said she hit a curb and crossed into the westbound lane of traffic, where her car struck a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass.

The driver of the Cutlass, Kayle Evans, 29, was driven to Howard County General Hospital for evaluation and released.

K? Howard County police said the crash is under investigation.
