EA Engineering, Science and Technology Inc. shares rose 23 percent yesterday on news that the company signed a contract with the U.S. Air Force's Air Combat Command worth an estimated $100 million.
Stock in the Hunt Valley-based company closed at $16.25, up $3, after it said it will provide environmental compliance and analysis services for Air Force sites throughout the United States and in some foreign locations.
The contract calls for a one-year base period with options for four additional one-year extensions.
EA Engineering had 1993 sales of $52.9 million.
The agreement marks the second major contract EA Engineering has won from the Air Force this year.
In January, the company announced it had won a contract to provide engineering services and environmental support to the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence at Brooks Air Force Base in Texas.
