Two Frederick County men were being held in the Carroll County Detention Center yesterday evening on a total of $125,000 bond after being charged with several drug-related counts Monday.

The men, who investigators say have been under investigation by the county drug task force for about six months, were arrested at a fast-food restaurant's parking lot in Mount Airy about 10 p.m. Monday.

Investigators said they received information that the men were in the Mount Airy area and found a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by one of the suspects, at the restaurant.

After the task force's drug-sniffing dog brought attention to the shoes of one of the suspects, officers searched the man and discovered a plastic bag containing one ounce of crack cocaine, police said.

In a statement in the charging documents, the suspect told police, "I don't know how it got there, it must have dropped into my shoe when I got out of the car."

James Kenn, 29, and Kevin Mills, 21, were charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of the narcotic and paraphernalia.

Mr. Kenn was also charged with maintaining a common nuisance (the vehicle) for the distribution of the drug.

Police said the cocaine had a street value up to $2,800.
