Chartridge sees rash of auto break-ins

County police are looking for the people responsible for a number of automobile break-ins in Chartridge and an attempted burglary near Macey's Corner over the weekend.

Someone stole a portable cellular phone Saturday night from a 1986 Toyota Cressida parked in the 100 block of Idleoak Court.

At the same time, two cassette tapes were stolen from a 1992 Dodge van parked in the 400 block of Idleoak Court.

The tapes were found later by the owner of a van in the 100 block of Idlewild Road. Nothing was taken from that van, but the glove compartment was ransacked, police said.

Two cars parked in the 100 block of Idlewild Road had items stolen from them, police said.

Someone took a radar detector from an unlocked 1989 Ford, and a radar detector and a wallet were taken from a 1992 Chevrolet.

A garage door opener was taken from an unlocked 1989 Ford Ranger parked in the driveway of a house in the 100 block of Idleoak Court, police said.

Meanwhile, someone removed an exterior screen from a kitchen window in the 500 block of Hodges Lane and tried to pry open the kitchen window with a tool, according to police.
