Severn man robbed of $500 at his home

A 28-year-old Severn man was robbed of $500 in cash Saturday night as he arrived at his home on Jacobs Meadow Road, county police said.

James Robert Gaspar had just returned home about 9:30 p.m. when a man approached him from behind, stuck a blunt object in his back and demanded money, police said. Mr. Gaspar went into his house and got $500 for the robber, who fled on foot.

Three men rob store on Fort Meade Road

Three men robbed the Starting Gate Liquor store in the 3400 block of Fort Meade Road in Laurel of an undisclosed amount of cash Sunday night, county police said.

They entered the store around 9:55 p.m. and demanded money, police said. One of the men was armed with a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol, witnesses told police. They fled west along Whiskey Bottom Road in a car driven by a fourth man.
