Top male RTC Wade Rolocut, Arundel Baseball
Rolocut pitched and batted the No. 3-ranked Wildcats to three victories last week. Monday, the senior pitcher/center fielder pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks to shut out South River, 10-0. Wednesday, Rolocut went 4-for-4 with three RBIs in a 15-0 win over Meade, and came back Friday with a three-hitter and eight strikeouts in a 17-2 win of Annapolis. Rolocut also went 2-for-3 at the plate in the Annapolis win.
Top female Melissa Snyder, Severna Park Softball
This junior outfielder had two triples, knocking in the winning run with the second one and scoring the first run as the No. 3-ranked Falcons upset then No. 1 Chesapeake, snapping the Cougars' 49-game winning streak. Her game-winning hit came in the top of the sixth.
Boys lacrosse Ian Stevenson, North County
Stevenson scored seven goals and had four assists, including four goals and two assists in a 13-7 upset at Broadneck on Friday. Stevenson had his other goals and assists in a 14-5 triumph over Northeast.
Girls lacrosse Sandra Norris, Chesapeake
Norris, a defenseman, was outstanding in a 2-1 week for the Cougars. Norris controlled 17 ground balls and five draws, had four steals and scored goals while assisting on two others. "Sandra's aggressive play has us playing very well now," said coach Jim Buchan after Friday's 23-11 victory over Northeast.
