Parole agent shot trying to foil theft

THE BALTIMORE SUN

BALTIMORE -- A 26-year-old parole agent from Woodlawn was seriously wounded after exchanging gunshots with a city robber early yesterday morning.

Milo Davis of the 1800 block of Colmar Road was in critical but stable condition last night at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

Police said Mr. Davis witnessed an armed robbery in the 1000 block of Greenmount Ave. about 2:10 a.m., ran to his nearby parked car to retrieve a gun, and started shooting at the robber.

No arrests had been made in the shooting as of late yesterday, said Frank Barlow, a homicide detective. An unidentified man who may have been involved in the shooting was being guarded by police at University Hospital.
