Motorcycle, pickup truck collide on Route 27 man, 39, is injured

An Olney man was seriously injured yesterday when the motorcycle he was riding slammed into a pickup truck on Route 27 in western Howard County.

Steven Kemp, 39, was flown by helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after the 1:43 a.m. accident. He was in serious condition.

Police said the collision occurred when a Dodge truck pulled out of the parking lot of Lou & Joe's Bar in the 1200 block of Route 27 near Mount Airy and made a left turn onto the highway.

Mr. Kemp was heading south on Route 27 and struck the truck driven by Bonnie Wright, 41, of Monrovia. She was not injured.
