When most people hear the name Zeller mentioned in regards to Loyola High School lacrosse, they think of the star defenseman for the Dons, senior Karl Zeller.

But yesterday at St. Paul's, another Zeller -- Karl's cousin, Brian -- made quite a name for himself.

The junior midfielder scored a game-high four goals -- including the game-winner -- to lead the No. 4 Dons to a 9-8 win over the No. 2 Crusaders in a Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association contest.

"Coming off a big win over Gilman, we didn't want to come in too over-confident against St. Paul's," said Brian Zeller.

All of Zeller's goals either tied the game or gave Loyola the lead.

He started the scoring 24 seconds into the game on a feed from junior Scott Diggs and gave the Dons a 3-2 lead with an extra-man goal 45 seconds into the second quarter.

With 3:22 left in the game, and Loyola trailing 8-7, Zeller beat St. Paul's goalie Sean Keenan (18 saves) to tie the game.

With 2:45 left, junior midfielder Tim Hahn fed Zeller from behind the crease. Zeller caught the waist-high pass and flicked it past Keenan for the deciding goal.
