Annapolis man, 26, arrested on drug charges

A 26-year-old Annapolis man has been arrested for several drug violations, including possession with intent to distribute.

According to police reports, officers responded to a complaint at 10:30 p.m. Thursday and saw a man with an open can of beer behind Martha's Court. They questioned the man, searched him and found nine pieces of crack cocaine.

Paul Erin Singleton of the 900 block of Royal St. was arrested and charged with possession of drugs, possession of drugs with intent to distribute and possession of an open container of beer.

Because the incident occurred near Tyler High Elementary School, he also was charged with possession of drugs with intent to distribute them within 1,000 feet of a school.

Mr. Singleton was being held in the county jail on $15,000 bond.
