* Wilde Lake: 10800 block of Green Mountain Circle: Would-be thieves attempted to steal a 1991 Nissan Sentra by popping the ignition Monday. Witnesses told police they saw two young men flee the scene into nearby woods.

* Town Center: 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: Someone tried to steal a 1994 Hyundai Scoupe from the Columbia mall lot Saturday.

* Harper's Choice: 5600 block of Harpers Farm Road: Someone attempted to steal a 1991 Toyota Camry on Tuesday morning, police said.

* Dorsey's Search: 4900 block of Columbia Road: A would-be thief tried to take a 1989 Acura Legend on Tuesday morning.
