A 25-year-old Severn man was beaten with a baseball bat Saturday morning as he attempted to break up a fight.

A witness told police that Marcus John Sansone of Stevenson Road was attacked about 1 a.m. in a home in the 8200 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd.

Mr. Sansone told police that some of his friends knew the assailant but that he could not remember the name.

Mr. Sansone received stitches to his head and neck at North Arundel Hospital and was released.
