The Crofton Civic Association board will discuss County Attorney Judson P. Garrett Jr.'s recent opinion on the Crofton budget at its meeting at 7:30 p.m. this evening in the town hall.
Mr. Garrett questioned the authority of the association to spend tax money on a community counselor program in a March 30 letter to County Executive Robert R. Neall.
In his letter, Mr. Garrett said Mr. Neall has three options: he may approve the Crofton budget, reject it in whole or in part, or approve it with conditions.
Mr. Neall has not yet announced his decision.
The board also will take up the question of providing fringe benefits for part-time Crofton employees.
