Sea Speed jumps to Voss victory

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Old Line Stable's Sea Speed jumped to the front halfway through the course and held off closing Florida Laurel to win the Edward S. Voss Memorial, the feature event at the Elkridge Harford Hunt Races yesterday in Monkton.

Sea Speed, trained by Jack Fisher, was ridden by John Bosley.

Armada Stable's Welter Weight came from 15 lengths off the pace in a full field of novices to capture the George Clement Memorial. Welter Weight was trained and ridden by race chairman Joe Gillet.

The final jump race on the card was won by Doverridge Farms' 13-year-old Free Runner, with Sheila Fisher aboard for her second victory of the day. Officio crossed the wire first but was disqualified for cutting a beacon early in the race.
