An evening of period music will be presented at Woodlawn Plantation in Alexandria, Va., Saturday. Woodlawn was the home of Nelly Lewis Custis, granddaughter of George and Martha Washington, and an accomplished harpist. The music will reflect Nelly's taste with a performance by a well-known harpist. In addition to the performance, with two seatings scheduled between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., the evening includes a candlelight tour, dessert and coffee. Tickets cost $25, and reservations are required. The 47th annual Pennsylvania Maple Festival is being held this weekend and again April 15-17 in Meyersdale, Pa.

Festival Park on Meyers Avenue is the hub of activities, including a maple camp with demonstrations and samples of maple products, tour of Maple Manor, the oldest home in the area, a craft building offering demonstrations and crafts for sale, a stage area for bluegrass musicians and cloggers, food booths and a children's activity area.
