* Hickory Ridge: 11300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: A cassette stereo valued at $250 was stolen from a white Honda CRX on Tuesday.

11400 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: A $500 CD player and several CDs were stolen from a blue Mazda Protege on Tuesday.

* Harper's Choice: 5300 block of Cedar Lane: A portable radio and a $250 winter coat were stolen from a white Subaru on Monday, police said.

* Dorsey's Search: 5300 block of Tarkington Place: Someone attempted to enter a home by forcing open its sliding glass door Tuesday. Police found a wire, used to remove a lock pin from the sliding door, just inside the home.

* Town Center: 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: A gold 1987 Acura Legend with Florida tags RGU44W was stolen from the Columbia mall parking lot Tuesday, police said.
