POLICE

* Eldersburg: A resident of the 1000 block of Johnsville Road reported to state police that someone shattered the window of his vehicle while it was parked near his home Sunday, and stole a stereo system and an assortment of tools. He estimated the damage and loss at $550.

* Sykesville: A resident of the 5800 block of Westchester Hills Court told state police that someone pried open the door of his vehicle and stole a stereo system Sunday. He estimated the damage and loss at $385.

FIRE

* Sykesville: Units from Sykesville, Gamber and Winfield were dispatched to a house fire in the first block of Dundee Court at 12:17 p.m. yesterday. They were back in service in 32 minutes.

Firefighters from Sykesville, Gamber and Liberty Road of Baltimore County responded to a house fire in the 2400 block of Arthur Ave. at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Units were out for 50 minutes.
