ROCKVILLE -- A former salesman convicted six years ago of molesting a 6-year-old girl at the Montgomery Mall in Rockville has been arrested and charged in Northern Virginia with 10 counts of aggravated sexual battery and three counts of producing child pornography.

Thomas A. Dietrich, 31, of Alexandria, was being held on $50,000 bond, according to Fairfax City Police in Virginia. He was arrested March 27 after his wife found videotapes and called authorities, police said.

Parents have been looking at photographs of 10 young girls made from videotapes after police asked that they be notified by anyone who took a child between the ages of 2 and 7 to a Luskin's electronics store showroom on Lee Highway between April and September of 1993.

More than 125 parents contacted the police department, and 18 sets of parents have seen the photographs.

Three identified pictures of their daughters being sexually abused at the store while they shopped nearby for appliances, police said.

In the earlier Rockville case, Mr. Dietrich was given a 12-month jail sentence, which was suspended.

He was placed on 24 months of supervised probation and ordered to continue therapy.

He violated the terms of his probation, records showed.
