25 Years Ago (Week of March 23-29, 1969):

* The parents of 95 girls attending Glenelg High School received a letter from Principal Robert H. Layman informing them that their daughters had "participated in a student demonstration . . . by wearing slacks to school."

* Howard County and Maryland State police combined forces to raid a party at a Bethany Lane home and arrested 28 people, mostly juveniles, for alleged possession of narcotics. Police referred to the raid as the "largest amount of narcotics arrests made at one time," and reportedly confiscated a "quantity of marijuana and dangerous drugs."

50 Years Ago (Week of March 26-April 1, 1944):

* Howard County resident Sergeant Technician James R. Davis returned to the United States for a 22-day furlough after a 22-month tour of duty in Italy and Africa.
