Baltimore woman robbed of cash at Owen Brown shopping center

A 23-year-old Baltimore woman was robbed of cash and jewelry as she left an Owen Brown shopping center Friday evening, Howard County police said.

The victim was heading to her car in the 9000 block of Snowden River Parkway at 6 p.m. when a man approached and demanded her belongings, police said.

The woman said the man held his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun, then ran away after she handed over her property, police said.

The suspect is described as white, in his early- to mid-20s, 6 feet to 6 feet 4 inches tall. He had a mustache, wavy shoulder-length blond hair and wore a blue jacket and blue jeans, police said.

* Oakland Mills: 5300 block of Five Fingers Way: A cassette carrying case and several cassette tapes, valued at more than $400, were stolen from a vehicle Thursday. Police said the thief also tried to steal the cassette radio.

* Kings Contrivance: 7200 block of Single Wheel Path: Vandals used a sharp object to scratch a red Honda Accord Wednesday.

* Owen Brown: 9800 block of Broken Land Parkway: Two hand-held tape recorders, valued at more than $600, were stolen from a business Wednesday or Thursday, police said.

7000 block of Deepage Drive: The passenger side rear vent window of a white Dodge Daytona was stolen Thursday, police said.
