Teacher to participate in space grant program

Elizabeth Demonte, a science teacher at John Carroll School, was selected to participate in a Maryland Space Grant Consortium at Morgan State University in conjunction with the Johns Hopkins University.

Ms. Demonte is one of 15 people selected statewide.

She will earn seven graduate credits in astrophysics and participate in a four-week internship.

CJohn Carroll School will receive a satellite dish computer terminal and computer software from the Maryland Space Grant Consortium.

Also participating in the program will be Linda Coale Tinsman, a 1974 graduate of John Carroll and a teacher at North East High School; and Marilyn P. Sherman, a teacher at Havre de Grace Middle School.
