No. 17 Gilman rips Lutheran for 18-1 win

Peter Bogue and Jason Goeller each went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs, leading host and No. 17 Gilman (2-0) past Lutheran (0-1), 18-1, in a five-inning nonleague game yesterday.

Jason Nitzberg, Brad Mowbray and Bobby Proutt combined on a one-hitter for the Greyhounds.

* Edgewood 12, Curley 7: Robby Mister went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, including a two-run home run, and Tim Hamulack was also 2-for-4 with three RBIs, leading Edgewood (1-0) past Curley (0-1) in a nonleague game. Chris Holdaway went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, including a run-scoring triple.

* Mount Hebron 12, Oakland Mills 6: Brian Beneciwicz went 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI, leading Mount Hebron (2-0, 1-0) past Oakland Mills in a Howard County League game.

* Carroll Christian 9, Chapelgate 7: Matt Good hit a three-run home run in the third inning to lead Carroll Christian (1-0) over Chapelgate (0-1). Good also recorded the save for Carroll Christian.
