A 45-year-old Harper's Choice woman awoke early yesterday morning to find a man armed with a pipe standing over her bed, Howard police said.

The man broke into the house on Hesperus Drive just before 2 a.m. and ordered the woman to put her face down, police said.

Before fleeing, the man stole cash and other items, police said. The woman called 911 after he left, but officers were unable to find the man.
