A Carroll Circuit judge will decide whether former Maryland Cooperative Extension Service Agent Sharon Grobaker should be reinstated to a Carroll County job she lost almost two years ago.

Testimony in Mrs. Grobaker's two-day nonjury civil trial against her employer ended Tuesday. Judge Luke K. Burns Jr. said he would issue a written opinion later.

Mrs. Grobaker filed the lawsuit, claiming wrongful transfer and a breach of contract, in July 1992 after she was transferred from Carroll to a job in Baltimore County. She is not seeking money damages.

She was transferred when her full-time position was eliminated as part of a plan to cut $3.6 million from the extension service budget. She had worked as a home economics agent in Carroll County for almost 16 years. Mrs. Grobaker exhausted the extension service's appeal process before she filed the suit.

Monday and Tuesday, she presented witnesses who testified that she should be transferred back to Carroll County.

Extension officials called Mrs. Grobaker's treatment fair.
