Unidentified pedestrian struck, killed by van

An unidentified man walking along Quarterfield Road was struck and killed Tuesday by a van driven by a Severn man, county police reported.

The man was walking in a westbound lane at 7:41 p.m. when he was struck by a westbound 1990 Ford van about 20 feet west of the intersection with Old Quarterfield Road, police said. The rTC victim, who was carrying no identification, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have identified the driver of the van as Chauncey W. Harris of the 900 block of South Wieker Road in Severn.

The county state's attorney's office is investigating the accident.
